"A bride would be nothing without her accessories" said one well versed bridesmaid from the now biblical film, '27 dresses'. Accessories can make the dress but we don't have to be all trussed up like a ball of glitter in a Mardi Gras parade. The Opus team are all saavy in styling and know our brides always require more than just a dress. We are here to lead you down the path of chicness towards your Big Day when you will be featuring on every Pinterest board and Instagram inspo page worth knowing.
Veils, veils, veils. Love them or hate them, its the only time you'll be wearing one. For some girls the longer the better, for others its a bit more of a final flourish on an already fabulous gown. We stock veils from a number of suppliers but each are handcrafted to the brides own specific requirements, with several being completely custom made. These do not take as long to come in as wedding dresses, so are sometimes better chosen during fittings or first try ons after the hysteria of choosing your dress has abated. Between super simple, lace scallops or our Opus favourite tinker bell scattered diamanté, there is a style to suit every dress
Sometimes you just gotta put a crown on it. From crowns, tiaras, side pieces, hair vines and flower crowns, the possibilities of head pieces are endless. A simple alice band style can elevate a bridal look, as can a hair vine through pleated hair for a more boho wedding. We always recommend getting hair and make up done before one of your fittings to envisage your final look before the day, which can help inform whether you go for a subtle side piece or a full blown crown. Well this is your day to be a princess after all!
As the ONLY stockist in Scotland of those stunning Badgley Mischka shoes - yes I know right, have you seen them? #InstaGoals and definitely one for the Kira-Kira sparkle app. We have just received all the latest styles from our favourite shoe designer and with the memory foam comfort sole, it means our girls are the last ones off the dance floor on their day. And whats ideal with Badgley Mischka's? Coming in a whole range of colours nude, pink, white and even a gorgeous blue, it means you can wear them again and again.
As a final flourish on a backless gown, back chains can look amazing, or with a high necked dress a pearl drop earring can be all it needs. Belts, fur stoles and straps are all additional pieces that can be taken off, and give a bride several looks on her day that make her extraordinary. However, please promise me this - no garters on slim fitting gowns! A wrinkling dress is not an ideal look for any gal, no matter the occasion. And please remember what a wise and elegant woman once said, “before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off." Just make sure its not the ring!
