Built from our passion and the “Opus Values” we offer a unique service at Opus. We take our bride on a journey from picking her gown, through the fitting and alteration service and then onto the preparation of her gown for collection on the week of her wedding. The Opus Experience is part of her wedding preparation and we make sure it is stress free and filled with joy.
For owners Sharon and Stewart, and the team they’ve built since Opus opened in 2003, it starts and ends with customer service. It’s about working with you to make sure that when you walk down the aisle you’re wearing a gown that looks spectacular and you feel confidant wearing.
Sharon McPherson established Opus Couture, based in the lovely village of West Kilbride, in 2003. Sharon has 30 years experience in the Bridalwear industry and Opus Couture has quickly grown into one of Scotland’s leading names in Bridal Fashion.
Our success has been achieved through quality of service, experience and in-house expertise, which has been recognised by winning the VOWS Industry Award in 2016 and in 2006 and 2010 as Best Bridal Retailer in Scotland, with nominations every year since 2005!
Sharon along with the majority of our staff have qualifications in fashion design and pattern cutting enabling us to give expert advice to all our brides, helping them to find the perfect gown.
Our beautiful new sister salon, Opus Atelier is just across the street from Opus Couture. We have brought 4 new high-end designers to Scotland which are exclusive to Opus Atelier including Berta and Berta Muse. It may be the beautiful simplicity of a superbly cut pattern or the wonderful complicity of exquisite beadwork and lace, but one thing is for sure each designer has their own distinct style.
The salon has the same welcoming and peaceful atmosphere as found in Opus Couture and you can visit the Opus Atelier website.
Sharon has been a driving force in the British bridal industry for over 30 years. After studying Textiles, Fashion and Embroidery in Belfast and Birmingham, she interned with Irish bridalwear designer Isobel Love.
Sharon has built many lasting friendships with brides, retailers, manufacturers and designers. As a Retail Bridalwear Association council member and judge of various national bridal awards she is deeply immersed in the bridal business, and it has become a huge part of who she is.
